Challenge

At Rosemary Works School, we believe that we should provide opportunities for the children to challenge themselves. As children grow to relish a challenge they learn that there is much to be gained by pressing themselves a little further or by stepping into the unknown, even if they might get stuck. Children begin to grow confident in their ability to stick at a problem, and to see that we learn through our mistakes. Our small class sizes and high staff to pupil ratio allows our teachers to tailor their planning to suit each child’s needs, offering additional support where required, and the opportunity for very able pupils to broaden and extend their learning. Our SENDCO works closely with the teachers to ensure that pupils with SEND are suitably challenged and supported in class. By empowering the children to take ownership of their learning, we give them the gift of pride in their own achievements, and we set them on the path to achieve their full potential.
