Preparation for secondary school
At Rosemary Works School, we retain a broad and balanced curriculum across our Year 5 and Year 6 provision rather than thrusting our pupils into a hothouse dedicated to preparing for selective examinations; instead we have a programme in which we work hand in hand with teachers and parents to ensure that each child is well prepared for secondary school entrance. We draw on our knowledge of the many and varied types of secondary schools in both the state and independent sector, to ensure that we find the right fit for your child when they embark on the next stage of their education.
Our Headteacher meets with all parents of pupils from Year 4 onwards to discuss their favoured secondary schools, to consider scholarship opportunities and to ensure that the school is working in partnership with parents to prepare each child for their next step.
The choice of secondary schools for pupils at Rosemary Works, is extensive and impressive, with a wide variety of school size, ethos and approach to learning. It is important to us that our pupils find the right school for their needs, with the right balance of challenge, innovation and nurture for their unique personal needs.
Our pupils successfully sit entrance and scholarship exams to a variety of selective and independent schools. In addition to our broad and enhanced curriculum, personalised attention is given to support our families with preparation for entrance exams and interviews.
